About Michael Lubiarz

Born and raised in southeastern lower Michigan, my passion for photography dates back to elementary school. It was here, during a school science project with pin-hole cameras that it all started. Since then I have strived to produce unique images that invite the viewer to experience that moment in time when the shutter is tripped.

From children's books, magazines and private collections, my work has been published widely both regionally and nationally. Over the past 25 years, I have worked professionally with many well known studios and stock photo agencies, providing high quality images for the commercial , architectural and healthcare industries.

I am a "die-hard film guy", and can still be found in the wet darkroom developing  and printing images using traditional techniques. My photographs are produced on film or hi-resolution digital capture, depending on the situation at hand. In keeping my photographs "real",  I am careful with post production manipulation, never adding in elements that were not true to the original scene. Over doing it with Photoshop, HDR and and the like can turn an image into a cartoon.        "Shoot it right the first time...in camera."
